ERICK'S GOING TO THE GAMES!

Congrats to Erick for finishing 6th overall in the Men's 50-54 CrossFit Open. Only the top 20 men in this age group out of nearly a thousand worldwide go to the CrossFit Games coming up July 13-15 in LA.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SUNDAYS

Getting up early, church with my family, and The CrossFit Open at CrossFit Ocean City. It doesn't get much better than that!

As we head into the final WODs of the 2012 CrossFit Games Open, the enthusiasm and camaraderie  builds. WOW!  Today, many CFOC Open WOD competitors completed 12.4: As Many Rounds as Possible of 150 Wallballs (Men: 20#/10', Women: 14#, 9'), 90 Double Unders, 30 Muscle Ups.  This WOD was particularly challenging! Performances were top notch.

 

REMINDER TO SIGN UP

Time to sign up for the World Erg Challenge. This is a Concept 2 challenge event that lasts 30 days. The idea is to row as many meters as you can during that time. Join the CFOC rowing team and gain additional access times to the gym to get those meters in! (Scroll down to a prior blog post for links and more info.)

LIFTING IN A LARGE CLASS

Lifting weights in a large class is just like any other sized class. As long as the coaching is strong and the CrossFitters give themselves enough space to work, no problem. The large classes also provide the most energy and motivation to improve and we usually have one or two other coaches around to help as well. The Saturday morning classes and the Monday - Friday 5:30 pm classes tend to be the largest. Try to hit those up once in awhile to get a different perspective on intensity.

SCHEDULE CHANGES TAKE PLACE THIS WEEK

We're taking the 6:30 evening classes on Tuesday and Thursday off the schedule effective this week. For those who need to work out late evening, come to the Monday and Wednesday 7 pm classes. The 7 PM and other afternoon and evening classes - 4:15 on Tu/Wed and 5:30 pm each day - remain unchanged.

Again, NO MORE 6:30 PM CLASSES ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS.
