I hope this Saturday evening post finds you well prepared for the Frankenstorm. Looks like Sandy is an indecisive gal and isn't ready to reveal exactly where she'll land. Regardless, the Rakow family is ready.
I am now in cabin-mode. For me, that means churning through lots of laundry while I whip up deliciousness in Kelley's Cave Kitchen. Presently, beef stew simmers on the stove. It smells sooo good!
Tomorrow, I will make one of my favorite fall soups, Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Curry Condiments. I must confess, I've only made it once. I almost cut my hand off trying to peel the squash. The re-match of wimpy woman with knife vs big butternut squash is long overdue. I researched online and found an awesome tutorial about how to cut, cube, and cook a squash and keep all 10 fingers! I'm confident this time will be less stressful!
